I don’t “have” to…

was talking to a friend the other day who recently got a girlfriend and he was telling me how he had to drive her to the airport tomorrow. as we talked i realized a recurring phrase…”i have to”. jokingly i told him, “dont be dumb, you GET to take her to the airport!”

then i realize how often i say “i have to” when it comes to ministry, which in reality is serving God. i need to realize that i GET to, because He sent Jesus to die for my sins. i GET to experience a love, joy, peace, which is beyond all comprehension. i GET to participate in His plan, not because of my abilities, but by the filling of the Holy Spirit which comes when we accept Christ.

amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me…

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!”

This passage brightened my day.

Psalm 96:11-13

11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
12Let the field exult, and all that is in it
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
13Before the LORD, for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth
He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

The heavens and the earth are rejoicing and singing because they know God is returning, and we get to spend eternity with Him.
